Want to party and advocate for better bike lanes...all at the same time?!

The next Bike Rave is coming up—this time for an important political occasion: the city’s new budget! On September 2, the administration will present to the city council how funds are to be allocated in Cologne for the years 2027 and 2028. Afterward, the politicians will negotiate for two months.

Under the slogan “Bike Lanes Instead of Excuses—Put Bicycle Traffic in the Budget!” we’re calling on the city council to allocate more funds for bike infrastructure. After all, every euro spent on cycling pays off many times over for society: safety for the most vulnerable, cleaner air, less noise, fewer accidents, and lower healthcare costs.

We’ll start at 4 p.m. during the City Council meeting with short speeches, and then the bike rave will move into the next round: fast, bouncy, intense. Get ready for an 8-km rave with a DJ bike and synchronized sound bikes in the protest march. We’ll be raving for about 1 hour across two Rhine bridges and through four tunnels, ending back in front of City Hall.
