In the organizer's words:
For the first time, the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek is presenting its Japanese woodblock prints in an exhibition: from March 27 to July 6, 2025, "Colors of Japan - Woodblock Prints from the Collection of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek" will feature around 130 works by well-known Japanese artists such as Utamaro, Hiroshige, Yoshitoshi, Hasui and Hokusai. A highlight of the exhibition are three color woodcuts from Hokusai's famous woodcut series "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji", including the world-famous "Great Wave".
