The animals on the Herren Farm suffer under their owner Mr. Jones, who neglects and exploits them. Every evening, Old Major, the prize-winning boar, calls the animals together and tells them his dream of a better future and a life of freedom and equality for all. When Mr. Jones is once again drunk in bed and forgets to look after the animals, a surprising revolution takes place. The animals drive out their tormentor and from then on run the farm without humans. But over time, a clever and brutal elite, led by the pigs Napoleon and Snowball, gradually takes control. The characters of George Orwell's classic "Animal Farm" have long since become legends: Boxer, the heroic and betrayed horse, Napoleon, the conniving pig and a gaggle of dogs, sheep and pigs who end up acting on one of the most fearsome slogans in modern literature "All animals are equal, but some are more equal". The creative team led by director Ingo Putz, set designer Carola Hoyer, puppet maker Maik Evers and composer Johannes Winde have devised a dynamic and contemporary interpretation of the story in which puppetry and drama merge seamlessly and, in the end, humans and animals are barely distinguishable.
