Female* Voices - smash the script!

In the organizer's words:

City: Ensemble #4

A collaboration with the theater education program
In High German and Low German

The women’s movement has unfolded in several waves over the centuries—from the struggle for suffrage and education, through equality in work and family life, to today’s global and digital feminism. At the same time, conservative movements are attempting to restore traditional roles and turn back the clock. According to studies, however, an “egalitarian role model” prevails among women* in Germany. Despite all the struggles women* are fighting, patriarchal structures remain rigid. Yet for a long time now, there have been those who rise up, who refuse to submit and resist, who dream of utopias and think from multiple perspectives.
As experts on ourselves, we look at our lives: What does it mean to be a woman*? Who are we, and who do we want to be (or no longer be)? What has shaped us? What is the real state of affairs regarding equality, the gender pay gap, balancing motherhood and career, the physical changes women* undergo throughout their lives, and poverty in old age? We want to bring the voices of different generations of women* to the stage. To make the unsaid audible and to repeat what has been heard many times. Drawing on individual life stories, we’re creating a polyphonic, empowering theater evening with and about women*.
We are looking for performers aged 16 to 99 for this project. Knowledge of Low German is not a requirement for participation. People who speak other languages are expressly welcome.
