Festival de Chôro München 2026

With the Festival de Chôro 2026, Munich will become the European capital of choro for the fifth time.

Friday February 20 to Sunday February 22, 2026 at the LUISE cultural center.

The LUISE cultural center will host concerts, lectures, workshops* for young and old as well as Rodas de Choro and Brazilian food.

Program:

Friday, February 20:

• 14-16:30 Bandão (choro orchestra) to play along with
• 16:30-17:30 Roda de Choro "What is that?",
• 18:00 Opening concert Casa das Flores with Elizabeth Fadel and Floor Polder followed by a Roda de Choro.

Saturday, February 21:

• 9am-12pm workshops with Flávio Nunes, 7-string guitar, (guitar and harmony instruments), João Araújo, pandeiro, (percussion and pandeiro), Anais Pasanau Miró (melody instruments).
• 13:30-15:30 Bandão to play along, 15:30-17 Workshop on improvisation
• 5 pm concert with the Duo Batucalina
• 7 pm concert with Mondo Chôro

Sunday, February 22:

• 9:00-10:30 am Bandão to play along,
• 10:30-12:00 Workshop on improvisation
• 12 noon concert with Bavaschôro
• 1:30 pm Bandão performance followed by Roda de Choro, 5 pm concert with the Cantares choir
