Intercultural music project & festival concert ATTACCA

On July 26, 2026, the Gasteig hp8 will become the venue for a special musical encounter: KISOBOKA - Everything Is Possible brings together young musicians from Uganda and Germany. The focus is on the joint concert by brass soloists from Brass for Africa - teachers from the LAB UGANDA (MUSIC CONNECTS) project - with ATTACCA, the youth orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera.

Kisoboka (Luganda: "Everything is possible") is both an artistic program and an attitude. In the form of the concerto grosso, music becomes a dialog: between soloists and orchestra, between continents and tonal languages, between different educational realities. The symphonic sound ideal of a European youth orchestra meets the rhythmic, emotional expressiveness of African wind ensembles - at eye level and in a lively exchange.

The concert will be preceded by a varied day of activities with workshops, a photo exhibition, a film screening and performances by pupils. Get to know rhythms from Uganda, experience musical education in moving images and get into conversation with artists.

In cooperation with MUSIC CONNECTS LAB UGANDA and Gasteig München GmbH and with the kind support of the Goethe Institute and the Federal Foreign Office.

Kisoboka - Concerto Grosso for Brass for Africa and Symphony Orchestra by Guy Barker MBE and Alan Fernie

In the second part of the concert: Soundscapes of cinema - great film music from the classical and modern periods with works by John Williams, Richard Strauss, Edward Elgar, Samuel Barber and others.

Action day KISOBOKA - Everything Is Possible
The KISOBOKA concert will be accompanied by a varied day of events at Gasteig hp8, with workshops, an exhibition, film and school presentations. Get to know rhythms from Uganda, experience musical education in moving images and talk to artists.
