Filmvorstellung: Riefenstahl (2024)

In the organizer's words:

Leni Riefenstahl's (1902 to 2003) estate tells above all how she herself wanted to be remembered and what was to be forgotten. Throughout her life, she allowed only one interpretation of her biography: her own. The 700 boxes of her estate, which were transferred to the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation in 2018, tell a different story. Among them are over 150,000 photographs that shed a new light on her statements and allow us to deconstruct her self-image.

In a collage of private films and photos, recorded telephone conversations with close companions and personal letters, the film reveals individual fragments of her biography frame by frame, facet by facet, and places them in an expanded context of history and the present.
