Who moves their fingers with the most finesse when spinning or slowing down the records and jog wheels? On World Middle Finger Day, we’re passing this question on to DJs Valentin Winkler, Nick Grater, and Tank Girl. Valentin honed his sense of rhythm on the drums and has been fully showcasing his precision on the beat as a DJ for over five years. Here at the Palais, the Munich native has repeatedly unleashed unexpected dance energy on the floor with his bouncy, melodic tech house and driving indie dance tracks.

Nick Grater and Tank Girl, on the other hand, are making their Palais debut, as they’re both from South Africa. Nick has been shaping Johannesburg’s nightlife for well over two decades. Twenty-three years ago, he launched his own label, Teknotribe Records, which has garnered even more attention. So it’s no wonder that this psy-techno specialist has already performed alongside scene legends such as Joseph Capriati, Wehbba, Victor Ruiz, Christian Smith, and Oliver Huntemann.

At today’s Munich gig, he’ll be joined by Tank Girl, his DJ colleague and wife, who is also part of the Teknotribe universe. She, too, has been a fixture on South Africa’s techno scene for nearly twenty years and specializes in rousing peak-time techno with fat basslines and sexy vocals. In Germany, she’s only wowed crowds in Berlin so far. Now she can show what she’s made of in the south of the country as well.
