Closing Reception with Jordan Madlon in Attendance
Saturday, July 25, 4:00–7:00 p.m.
GOLD+BETON, Ebertplatzpassage
--
back to back is a collaborative exhibition project between the two artists Jordan Madlon and Paul F. Millet and the exhibition spaces GOLD+BETON at Ebertplatz (Cologne) and La Volonté 93 (Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine). Drawing inspiration from the term “b2b,” familiar from the club scene— a DJ set performed equally and alternately by two people, Madlon (painting, sculpture, drawing) and Millet (installation, photography, drawing, text) present a b2b exhibition in the exhibition spaces.
Since 2024, the artists have been engaged in an ongoing exchange of “scores”—visual, auditory, and textual materials. In this context, the studio and storage space are understood as mental spaces. On this basis, the “back to back” exhibition unfolds. A jointly developed scenographic dispositif—a hybrid exhibition design—interweaves their respective artistic practices, thereby creating a space for dialogue.
