California in Freiburg. An endlessly hot summer is on the horizon.
The nostalgic gym "Fitness California" with its indestructible strength courses is one of the few relics of the Californian fitness boom of the 1980s. And it is the small "dream factory" of three sports heroes who train here every day.
The wrestling idols Adolf Seger, Bernd Fleig and Mario Sabatini, who are still linked to each other today in biting competition and deep friendship, stirred up the national and international wrestling scene in the 1960s and 70s - a heyday of German wrestling. When their careers ended in the early 80s, they enthusiastically surfed the Californian fitness wave and founded the Fitness Studio California in Schwarzenegger style. To this day, the septuagenarians, who have never lost their grip on life despite their enormous successes, live for sport and lead the extremely colorful California clientele - from recreational athletes to para-world champions - every day with constant good humor and great social commitment.
