Electrifying Rhythm, Expressive Dance Languages
Two great choreographers stand side by side in this evening’s performance, exploring intensity, physicality, and the courage to rethink movement: In “In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated,” William Forsythe pushes the classical ballet vocabulary to its limits with surprising, raw, and electrifying dynamism. Set to the pulsating electronic sounds of Ori Lichtik, Sharon Eyal’s “Strong” explores the tension between control and ecstatic desire through hypnotic patterns: a dreamlike world emerges, delicate and overwhelming at the same time.
