FORTUNA IM EXIL: K im K - Klang im Kino

This event brings together various sound and video artists from Leipzig to present their audiovisual pieces created specifically for this evening. Four acts—mostly duos consisting of a sound artist and a visual artist—present audio-reactive graphic animations, live-performed documentary-essayistic pieces, or immerse themselves in 3D worlds. We roam through metropolises, loop the world, and bring spatial sound rhythms to the former movie theater at the Ost-Passage.

The “K im K – Klang im Kino” series was launched in 2022 as part of the Bauhelmfestspiele at the former Kino der Jugend (E162). The monumental cinema building in eastern Leipzig was brought to life with three-channel video projections and surround sound. Since then, the series has been presented not only there, but also at UT Connewitz and the Schaubühne Lindenfels. This year, due to the property office ’s ban on entry, “K im K” is launching as part of FORTUNA IM EXIL and is delighted to be a guest at the Ost-Passage Theater.

FORTUNA IM EXIL brings together all IG FORTUNA events that cannot take place at the former Kino der Jugend due to the current ban on entry. You can find the full program and more information here: https://ig-fortuna.de/
