To mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe on May 8, 2025, the town hall is showing a special photo exhibition by US war photographer Lee Miller.
The impressive black and white images document the arrival of US troops in Cologne, the end of the war in the city and the realities of life for the affected population. As one of the few female war correspondents of her time, Lee Miller was not only an observer but also a witness to the dramatic upheavals of those days.
The exhibition is a cooperation between the City of Cologne and AmerikaHaus NRW e.V. and invites historical reflection and remembrance.
