In our concert series "Frei Töne - from early music to jazz", a jazz concert is on the program on June 2, 2026:

We are looking forward to

• Kateryna Kravchenko (jazz vocals)
• Béla Bluche (jazz double bass)

With works by Richard Rodgers, Bart Howard, Djavan (contemporary Brazilian composer) as well as Ukrainian folk songs and original compositions.

About the artists:

Kateryna Kravchenko creates music that shines and resonates. The Cologne-based Ukrainian singer and composer combines her voice with cinematic soundscapes and a strong independent style.

Influenced early on - piano at four, jazz at eleven - her path led her to Germany in 2018. As part of the Bundesjugendjazzorchester, she has performed on stage with international stars and her music can be heard with the Kravchenko-Clees Duo and the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, among others.

Today she continues to develop her unmistakable sound between composition and improvisation, is studying for a double master's degree in Cologne (Heinrich Böll Scholarship) and is on tour throughout Europe. Her debut album "Faces" was released in April 2026 and she has been sponsored by Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now in Cologne since 2023.

Béla Bluche is a double bass player, composer and explorer of different styles such as folk, classical, improvisation, groove, jazz and rock. His childhood in Paris, where he lived until the age of 20, shaped his encounter with different genres and cultures. In order to further deepen his versatility and refine the subtleties of the individual styles, Béla Bluche completed several courses of study.

Between these styles, he has created his own musical home, which is characterized by the joy of playing together and discovering music together. Béla Bluche has already shared the stage at numerous concerts and international festivals, including with the Orchestre de Paris, Les Dissonances, Entretemps, Dimitris Saroglou, Roman Pfeifer (chamber electronics), various narrators, dancers and numerous artists from the independent scene in Germany and France. He was accepted into the Yehudi Menuhin Live Musik Now program at the end of 2023.

The concerts are organized in cooperation with the association Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Köln e.V.
The event is free of charge. A donation is requested for the benefit of our hospital support association.
