freitagsküche Workshop • Druck machen – kollektive Bilderwelten im Siebdruck

In the organizer's words:

The artist Andreas Diefenbach invites you to a four-hour screen printing workshop that allows you to experience artistic production as a collective process.
The starting point is motifs, texts or spontaneous image ideas brought along by the participants. Together, these are transferred into printable templates and then realized on paper and textile. The workshop teaches the basic technique of screen printing and at the same time opens up a space for exchange, appropriation and collaborative work.
The focus is less on the individual work and more on the process: the negotiation of visual languages and the creation of visual references between the various works. The workshop thus develops into a temporary production community.

Screen printing functions as a low-threshold, yet precise artistic practice - between craft, reproduction and political expression.
No previous knowledge is required. Materials will be provided, you are welcome to bring your own textiles or motifs.

The workshop takes place as part of freitagsküche. Perhaps the best festival kitchen in Europe cooks and curates culinary art as a social event: the artists' collective not only provides diverse and tasty food at the festival, but also creates a social space in which artistic practice and everyday culture overlap with the workshop offer.
