Friendship - one of the great themes of literature. It can be a salvation or an imposition, it is long-lasting and then breaks down over trivialities. How do women writers talk about friendship today - between closeness and distance, care and freedom, solidarity and self-assertion? Shida Bazyar(Drei Kameradinnen), Isabel Bogdan (Wohnverwandtschaften), Alina Bronsky (Pi mal Daumen) and Katharina Hagena(Flusslinien) approach the relationships between women in very different ways - with a clear eye for the fractures and the unifying factors. An evening about friendship in life and in literature: about togetherness, silence, laughter, arguments - and about why female friends in literature often tell us more about ourselves than any love story.
