For thousands of years, hybrid creatures have played a central role in people's fantasies and questioned the boundaries between culture and nature. The special exhibition at Schloss Benrath explores the theme of hybridity in the animal kingdom and the human imagination in the form of fables and myths. Thomas Grünfeld's "Misfits" series focuses on fascinating hybrid creatures made from animal specimens that are reminiscent of fable characters and question human creativity and breeding in equal measure. The exhibition is complemented by zoological objects, handicrafts and graphics from all the museums at Schloss Benrath.
