Event: Guided tour through the exhibition "First Class Racism. Stuttgart's testimony"

On Saturday, 26.10.2024, at 2 pm, Local Diversity invites you to an exclusive guided tour through the exhibition "First Class Racism. Stuttgart's Testimony" at the Stadtpalais Stuttgart. The curators of this unique exhibition, which shows the connection between historical events and current social structures, have created a particularly evocative presentation.

In four "classrooms", the role of the media in spreading narratives about racism is highlighted, among other things. Political actions by civil society are also addressed, such as the shocking incident in the summer of 2023, in which masked people shouted right-wing slogans and unfurled a racist banner at the Inselbad Untertürkheim swimming pool. The exhibition vividly demonstrates how this violence continues to the present day as part of an ongoing right-wing extremist threat.

Local Diversity, a Stuttgart-based association that campaigns for more diversity and political participation of people with a history of migration, is organizing this tour. Our aim is to promote political engagement and work together to combat racism and discrimination.
