Flat du Palais - International BMX Flatland Contest

Flat du Palais brings BMX Flatland, urban culture and top international riders to
Stuttgart! From June 5 to 21, 2026, the square in front of the StadtPalais Stuttgart will be transformed into an open stage for BMX culture. Flat du Palais is a three-week event format that focuses on BMX Flatland, one of the most creative and technically demanding disciplines in BMX sport.

Under the motto "BMX Culture Experience", Flat du Palais brings the fascination of Flatland BMX to life for a wide audience: through international contests, shows, jams, workshops, exhibitions, a cinema night and discussion formats about
street culture. The public space in front of the StadtPalais will become a place where the scene, young riders, families, culture vultures and international athletes can come together.

BMX Flatland combines precision, balance, body control and creativity. The riders use their BMX bikes not only as sports equipment, but also as a form of expression. Tricks, movement sequences and individual styles are created on a flat surface, without ramps, without a course, but with maximum control, flow and artistic ambition.
A highlight of the program is the international BMX Flatland Contest from 19 to 20 June 2026, where riders from all over the world are expected in Stuttgart.
International pro riders such as Varo Hernandez (ES), Chris Böhm (DE), Alberto Moya (ES), Matthias Dandois (FR), Julien Baran (FR) and Sietse van Berkel (NL) have already been announced.

The contest weekend will be complemented by a diverse supporting program that will make the cultural roots and development of BMX Flatland
visible.
The supporting program in the weeks leading up to the event also includes BMX workshops for children and young riders, open jams, shows, a BMX Cinema Night, a panel talk (Street Culture Dialogue - by invitation only) and a small photo exhibition.
As a centrally located venue for city history, contemporary culture and urban perspectives, the StadtPalais Stuttgart offers the perfect setting for an event that sees BMX not just as a sport, but as a living culture. Flat du Palais creates
visibility for a scene that has been characterized by creativity, passion and mutual exchange for decades.
