The works of contemporary Chinese artist Jianfeng Pan (*1973), who describes himself as a "social calligrapher", are impressive, ranging from small album pages to monumental formats. After studying under renowned calligrapher Wang Dongling and graduating in "Visual Communication" from the Hangzhou National Academy of Art, he initially worked as a graphic designer in Shanghai. Since 2016, Pan has been living and working "in self-exile" in Finland, where he devotes himself entirely to ink art. His works combine Daoist concepts of "carefree wandering" with motifs from the Scandinavian natural landscape. The guided tour will give you an insight into Pan's multi-layered work.
