When it gets dark early outside and lanterns are glowing everywhere, the season of St. Martin begins—and with it, the mission of Fünkchen, the little lantern elf.

Normally, his lantern folk make sure that all the lanterns shine warmly during the dark season. But Fünkchen’s light has gone out: His lantern has gone dark because he’s forgotten the lantern song.

Luckily, Fünkchen isn’t alone: Björn Heuser is there—along with a whole hall full of preschool and elementary school children who want to help. In this heartwarming interactive story, the children sing, listen, dance, and laugh. Song by song, the children help Fünkchen remember the traditional lantern, St. Martin’s, and St. Nicholas songs. And with every song, his lantern grows a little brighter.

In the end, it’s not just Fünkchen’s lantern that shines—but the entire hall.
