FZW Indie Night: MRK & MIND TREE

Mind Tree, from Slovenia, blends modern jazz with influences from progressive rock, avant-garde, and classical music. With their debut album *Catharsis*, the trio garnered international attention and was honored, among other accolades, with the award for Best Original Composition at the 7 Virtual Jazz Club. Their sound ranges from complex structures to improvisational freedom and atmospheric depth.

MRK, led by Slovenian drummer and composer Gaj Bostič, delivers an energetic blend of jazz, prog, and electronic elements. Driven by pulsating grooves, distinctive horn lines, and plenty of room for sonic contrasts, this international ensemble has developed a unique sound that balances structure and experimentation. Following performances at the Ljubljana Jazz Festival and MENT Ljubljana, their self-titled debut album, *MRK*, was released in early 2026.
