Gagarin - Once Weightless and Back takes place between prefabricated buildings and orbit. The story of a young space enthusiast from the banlieue becomes a poetic expedition into the power of imagination.

Yuri grew up in the Cité Gagarine, a 1960s apartment complex on the outskirts of Paris, which he has never left. Like the Soviet cosmonaut after whom the neighborhood is named, the 16-year-old dreams of one day flying into space - and escaping the grey reality. However, when it is announced that the settlement is to be demolished, Yuri begins to fight. Together with his friend Houssam and his neighbor Diana, he resists the impending disappearance - and transforms his apartment into a fantastic space station to save Gagarine from oblivion.
