Frise Lumière

At Streiflicht, Frise L umière is a personal project by the artist, musician and composer Ludovic Gerst. By reducing the instrumentation to just his bass, he succeeds in eliciting rhythmic, harmonic and percussive melodies.

Everything springs from raw textures - a noise, a sound ... like a voiceless song trying to come to life, to emerge from a body, from a mouth, from this side, this bass. Beaten, bowed, misappropriated, turned back on itself - this instrument becomes melodic and rhythmic at the same time, transforms into a percussion instrument, lets other voices through, other breaths ...
