Celebratory concert followed by a reception

At 11 a.m., Flautando invites you to a celebratory concert followed by a reception - to remember, marvel and celebrate.

For 35 years, Flautando Köln has stood for joy of playing, diversity of sound and inquisitive music-making. Our anniversary program looks back on special moments in our ensemble's history - and at the same time shows where our musical journey is heading.

One highlight is our cross-genre music theater piece "JACK & JILL", created thanks to the German Music Council's Neustart Kultur ensemble grant. With texts by psychiatrist Ronald D. Laing and in creative collaboration with Heikko Deutschmann (acting) and Albrecht Maurer (music), it has developed into a fascinating, moving stage work.

A second focus is our program "LIGHT AND DARKNESS", together with Holger Schäfer - harpist, singer and storyteller. Words and music interweave to create a poetic search for the mysterious between darkness and light.

Dieter Schiffer, chief speaker of WDR, will lead us through the morning, looking back on 35 years of the ensemble's history in a humorous and personal discussion.

Torsten Müller on drums and percussion will also be joining us as a musical companion - a familiar, inspiring companion since our first concerts.

To mark the anniversary, the ensemble is also presenting its new CD "Licht und Finsternis" - freshly released and available at the concert.

Celebrate sound, passion and joie de vivre with Flautando - 35 years of Flautando Köln!
