Our culture of remembrance must change. Susanne Siegert explains how and why in this book. She argues for a pluralistic, new form of remembrance work with a focus on the responsibility of the descendants of the generation of perpetrators instead of our "rehearsed" joint review with the victims. It is about lesser-known Nazi crimes, lesser-known places and previously neglected groups of victims. At the same time, this book shows how important a more active, more diverse culture of remembrance is in order to reach future generations even without direct eyewitness accounts.

Susanne Siegert, born in 1992, educates people about the Holocaust on Instagram and TikTok under @keine.erinnerungskultur. The journalist was awarded the ELNET Prize and the Grimme Online Award in 2024 for her educational work.
