His verses are influential and moving: Paul Gerhardt is an exceptional 17th century poet who still inspires, accompanies, supports and comforts people with his poetry today! For the Windsbach Boys' Choir and Spark, he is a source of inspiration for an exciting musical partnership. In this program, the clear sound of the boys' choir meets the virtuosity of the classical band. This is where tradition and modernity meet. Songs become songs. The two ensembles combine well-known settings of Paul Gerhardt's poems with popular folk songs from the 17th century, creating a lively musical picture of this challenging time. For the songs and poems reflect what preoccupied people: faith and piety, love and joie de vivre, seasons and festivals, but also war and death. David Reichelt - an award-winning multi-talent, at home in classical music, jazz and film music - contributes a furious finale to this exciting get-together with the commissioned work "Von Freude getragen" (Carried by Joy) and at the same time spans the arc from Paul Gerhardt's time to the here and now.
