George Xylouris presents the solo performance
"HOMA" with Markos Pinakoulakis, who is responsible for the sound and the sonic interventions.
With his lute and his voice, he searches for traces on the path where both traditional Cretan folk music and the avant-garde influences of independent forms of expression have settled in his very personal language.

"Life is an endless sequence in an endless journey.
A concert is the same - a small life. Impressions, sensations, feelings about what is happening create a world in the moment that is all music.
In these moments in which I transcend myself, I discover the language that transforms the world in which I live. It allows me to lose myself and be reborn, to become someone who lives and desires with intensity within the same piece that is being played.

George Xylouris comes from Anogia in Crete and grew up in a traditional family of musicians. From an early age, he played the mandolin, lyre and lute, which later became his main instrument. Influenced by his father Psarantonis and other family members, he developed his own style, which combines Cretan folk music with modern influences.
At the age of 17, he began working with Ross Daly and the organization "Labyrinthos". Later he lived in Melbourne, founded the "Xylouris Ensemble" and created a distinctive sound that inspired young Cretan musicians. He collaborated with international artists such as "Dirty Three" and performed worldwide.
Since 2013, he has formed the duo "Xylouris White" with Jim White, which has released five albums and toured internationally. In addition to numerous collaborations, George also presents solo concerts and has composed music for films such as A Family Affair and Light Falls Vertical. He is currently working on his first solo album, which reflects his many years of musical development.
