Although Hindsight Is 50/50 is GHOSTWOMAN's third album in 18 months, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Evan Uschenko is certain that "this is the first album that "finally captures the true nature of the band". The album was recorded mostly live in three days at Kerwax analog studios in Brittany, France, by Christophe Chavanon (The Good Damn). Uschenko explains that "the first two albums were never meant to be albums: They're like pages from long-burned diaries." Since Ille van Dessel came on board as co-writer and drummer, the project seems to have a direction. There's a confidence and assurance that was built on 2022's eponymous debut and its follow-up, Anne, If, which wasn't released until January 2023. This urgency to keep moving forward and forward is reflected in the band, "We prefer to stay busy all the time. But we are also lazy. That's why we still feel like we could do a lot more."
