In the organizer's words:
With the event series "Gleich & gerecht - Familie im Wandel" (Equal & fair - family in transition), Frauenstudien München, in cooperation with the ubo9 cultural center and the Equal Care Munich alliance, takes a look at the cultural images of family that still shape our social understanding of parenthood today. One of the starting points is Heide Lutosch's book "Kinder haben" (Having Children), which reveals the historically evolved guiding narratives of motherhood, fatherhood and family.
The series questions these cultural constructions from a feminist perspective: What images still determine how care work is distributed today? Which narratives of the "good mother" or "modern father" continue to have an impact? And how do they influence decisions, scope for action and material justice in families?
To conclude the series, we will look to the future: how can we live more in community again - beyond excessive demands and the feeling of having to do everything alone? After two evenings on compatibility, role models and care work, we want to consider together what forms of solidarity and mutual support we are specifically lacking in the west of Munich.
The evening will start with a short impulse and then become interactive and exchange-oriented. Together, we want to collect ideas, connect people and consider how more community can be created locally. If you would like to brainstorm ideas with us and get active, please come along.
