On April 17, the band GLUMP will present their debut album at Köşk. The songs by the brass combo from Munich are inspired by brass melodies from all over the world and vary between daydreamy, sloppy melodies and wobbly, hectic dance rhythms.
In addition to the concert, there will be an exhibition of cyanotypes (blue prints) by the band and their friends, which show the stories behind their songs in collage form. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Free admission.
THE BAND
If you like walking along the Isar on warm summer days, you may have already met the band GLUMP. Because they didn't have a practice room to begin with, their rehearsals usually take place here in the fresh air. It is not unusual for these rehearsals to turn into spontaneous concerts. Their songs sound unagitated, purely instrumental and often have a story at their core, which song titles such as "Glowworm" or "Secret Agent" suggest. In addition to many street music and open-air concerts, the band landed in the Herzkasperl tent at the Oktoberfest in 2024. And this despite (or perhaps because) GLUMP has very little in common with traditional brass band music. They draw their inspiration more from the brass groups of southern North America or the Balkans.

THE ALBUM
The impressions of their outdoor rehearsals can also be found on their debut album "Glump": melodies, rustling and analog rhythms mix with the sounds of nature, chatting friends and clinking glasses to create a warm, comforting mélange. Sloppy songs like the opener ("Schlachthof") alternate with danceable rhythms ("Taschenspieler") and melancholy, drifting moods ("Brückner").
The nine self-written songs were recorded and mixed by musician friend Severin Rauch. Willy Löster mastered the record. The love of analog, handmade and perhaps awkward is also reflected in the record's artwork. Tubist and band graphic artist Lex drew inspiration for the design from cyanotype (blueprinting) and screen printing. In several sessions, all band members and friends made art prints using these techniques, which are included with the record and will be shown at the release concert in Köşk.
