go drag! 2026

In the organizer's words:

go drag! munich celebrates drag art by female, trans* and non-binary artists and will once again take place this year at the PATHOS theater, schwere reiter, Gasteig HP8, the NS Dokuzentrum and other locations in Munich.

The first go drag! festival was organized in Berlin in 2002 by New York drag king pioneer Diane Torr and Berlin gender performance legend Bridge Markland. 20 years later, the second edition took place there, unfortunately without the late Diane Torr, but Bridge Markland now had local drag artists Nancy Lund and Olive Baldwin at her side.

With the Gasteig HP8, the PATHOS theater and the Munich co-curator - drag artist Ruby Tuesday - go drag! 2024 has found a home in Munich. Theater plays and cabaret shows, lectures, workshops, parties and discussions with local and international artists will be offered again in 2026.

godrag! munich 2026 is funded by the Cultural Department of the City of Munich, Gasteig Munich, the NATIONAL PERFORMANCE NETZ Guest Performance Fund for Theater, funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media and the Ministries of Culture and the Arts of the federal states.

The festival is supported by Museum 5 Kontinente, Münchner Stadtbibliothek, NS Dokuzentrum, Pinakothek der Moderne.
