Corinthium Aes—a very special, almost magical alloy that was already known in Ancient Egypt! For a long time, knowledge of the complex manufacturing process was thought to have been lost. Goldsmith Matthias Lehr finally succeeded in reconstructing it.
In this workshop, learn more about how this special alloy is made and how it works, and visit the Neues Museum to see authentic ancient Egyptian objects made of the mysterious “black copper.” Afterward, under the guidance of Matthias Lehr, you can design your own jewelry plate using the inlay technique according to your own ideas.
