Gregory Alan Isakov

2018 GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter and musician Gregory Alan Isakov will release his highly anticipated new album on August 18.
"Appaloosa Bones," produced by Isakov and Andrew Berlin (Descendents, Rise Against) and recorded at Isakov's studio outside of Boulder, is his first new album in five years and features his signature "emotionally moving songwriting style" (NPR Music). With these eleven tracks, Isakov creates an atmospheric collection that combines lush harmonies with layered instrumental textures of guitars, banjos and piano, many of which Isakov recorded himself. Of the album, Isakov says, "I really wanted to make a folky, little lo-fi rock 'n' roll record. And then the songs kind of told me, 'No, THIS is going to be it.' So I said, 'OK,' and after a while I just held the reins and waited to see where it would go and how the material worked. What I found was a collection of songs that took me back to when I first started with the band - traveling a lot by van and playing in the Southwest and West. Those wide-open landscapes had this quietness and expansive depth that grounded me and evoked a lot of the oddities I was drawn to when I started writing songs."

Isakov, who is beloved by his loyal fan base and critics alike, has amassed over 1 billion streams to date and released five full-length albums, including 2018's "Evening Machines," which was nominated for Best Folk Album at the 62nd GRAMMY Awards. In addition, Isakov's music has been used in hit series such as Grey's Anatomy, Big Sky, A Million Little Things, The Haunting of Hill House, Virgin River, The Blacklist, This is Us and many others.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and raised in Philadelphia, Isakov now makes his home in Colorado. When he's not on the road, he spends much of his time writing and recording songs in his barn studio, as well as farming his Boulder County farm, which supplies farm CSA members, local restaurants, and Community Food Share (a Boulder County food bank).

After great concerts in the fall of 2022, Gregory and his band will return to Germany next December.
