Günther Grauer 30 Jahre singender Wirt – Mein musikalisches Leben
In the organizer's words:
A Passion for Schlager
From Schlager bar owner to cult icon: Günther Grauer can now look back on more than 30 years of his musical career. The three-part evening at the Silbersaal is packed with video clips, exciting stories, current Schlager hits, and his greatest hits, such as “Bavarian Dream” and “Auszieh’n”
From the Kitchen to the Schlager Stage
In 1993, Günther Grauer opened his first restaurant near Lake Starnberg. Back then, he would often perform humorous song parodies at the regulars’ table. When a friend got married at his inn dressed entirely in white, he had the idea to join the band in his white chef’s uniform and kick off the wedding. As it happened, a music producer was among the guests, and he soon recorded Günther’s first Schlager CD with him. This was followed by stage and television appearances on Schlager shows throughout Germany, as well as his own songs. Günther Grauer then performed for many years as a solo artist alongside major stars at the Bar Bistro Roy.
With hits ranging from Udo Jürgens to DJ Ötzi
Günther Grauer divides his show into three parts: “How It All Began…,” “The ’90s,” and “Well-Known Schlager Hits.” He shares funny anecdotes and sings his biggest hits, such as “Gemütlichkeit kennt keine Grenzen,” the King Ludwig II anthem “Bavarian Dream – Ein bayerischer Traum,” and “Auszieh’n.” He also performs a ’70s medley, as well as songs by Udo Jürgens, Roland Kaiser, and DJ Ötzi. Film clips repeatedly evoke memories of the past, bringing the atmosphere of the Schlager steamboat or the regulars’ table at the country inn right into the Silbersaal.
It means a great deal to me that I can look back on my last 30 years as a host—as a singing innkeeper, so to speak—on stage. ( Günther Grauer)
