In the series “Gysi Meets in Erfurt,”Gregor Gysitalkswitha wide variety of people from the worlds of politics, culture, and society about their lives, work, and views.
His guest,Raúl Aguayo-Krauthausen, isone of the most prominent inclusion activists. He uses a wheelchair and, among other things, organizes political protests and campaigns both online and offline withSOZIALHELD*INNEN, a think tank for social projects. The team is committed to human rights, inclusion, participation, diversity, and accessibility.
As a communications graduate, author, host, and speaker, he has been active in the internet and media world for years. He invented theWheelmap, a map of wheelchair-accessible locations that is continuously updated. He also filed a constitutional complaint against the triage regulation and raises awareness about disability through various media outlets. Another notable project by Krauthausen isLeidmedien.de, an online guide on language and disability. Among other things, the platform offers journalists tips on how to report on people with disabilities as equals, free from stereotypes and clichés.
Raúl Krauthausen has received numerous awards for his work, including the United Nations World Summit Award (2012), the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon (2013), and the Grimme Online Award (2018).
