PICK OF THE DAY

You cannot miss this event.

In the organizer's words:

Our “Cruise to Bremen’s Industrial Harbor,” organized by the Harbor Museum in collaboration with Hal över, is anything but ordinary. From the Martinian Pier, the tour boat travels downstream to the Oslebshausen lock and on to the industrial harbor with its seven harbor basins. With an annual throughput of about six million metric tons, this port handles just under half of the cargo handled by Bremen’s city ports. Opened in 1910, the industrial port is not only a site with a long tradition but remains an important logistics hub for Bremen.

The tour is led by independent cultural studies scholar Christine Glenewinkel. On board, you’ll learn many interesting facts about the port’s history, today’s operations, outstanding industrial facilities, and Bremen’s unique features along the route.

The tour lasts about 3 hours. However, because seagoing vessels have priority in the lock, our tour boat may experience longer wait times.
