In the organizer's words:

Azad Hemee was born in 1979 in Qamishli, Syria, to a Kurdish family. In 2003, he completed his art studies at the renowned Adham Ismail Institute of Fine Arts in Damascus.

Since then, he has participated in major exhibitions in Syria, Iraq, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. In 2011, his paintings were exhibited at the Musée d’Art Moderne in Paris. Hemee has received awards from art organizations in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Canada.

It was above all his expressive paintings of cockfights that quickly brought the young artist to prominence. What makes them special is how these roosters, rendered in an expressive style, become dramatic symbols of human conflict.

Exhibition dates: October 2–December 13, 2026, every Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Our permanent exhibition also features a variety of bronze and terracotta sculptures by Kirches-Ban.de, which primarily explore the theme of today’s “strong woman,”

as well as more than 100 works by a network of international artists from Iceland, France, Syria, Georgia, Brazil, Bangladesh, China, the Philippines, the Congo, and more.

Experience the grandeur of a museum while enjoying a very personal, intimate atmosphere in the many small rooms of our art house! Coffee is waiting for you! Every Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
