Hallelujah & Schalom. Leonard Cohen - mit Lutz Debus (Gitarre, Bass, Gesang) und Holger Jenrich (Texte)
In the organizer's words:
Leonard Cohen (1934–2016) was many things: a Jew and a Buddhist, a musician and a writer, an introverted heartthrob and an intellectual poet. He wrote and sang about freedom and love, death and religion. And he created songs that really ought to be declared part of the world’s cultural heritage: “Bird on a Wire,” “Suzanne,” “Hallelujah.”
Lutz Debus and Holger Jenrich guide the audience through the life of the Canadian singer and poet through music and storytelling. The result is a portrait of Leonard Cohen—composed of songs and stories—that is as moving as it is informative.
“Hallelujah & Schalom, a concert evening that sparked lively conversations and discussions among the audience even during the intermission and will continue to resonate for a long time to come” (IKZ, Iserlohn).
Lutz Debus, a social educator and musician, lives in Dortmund.
Holger Jenrich, a trained daily newspaper editor, author, and journalist, lives in Hanover and Lünen.
