“La vie en rose” is a captivating evening about an extraordinary city, a wonderful feeling, and a very special kind of music. The city is Paris, the feeling is love, and the music that connects the two in such a striking way has hardly ever been described more aptly than by French actor Gérard Depardieu in an interview about his film “Chanson d’Amour”: “Popular chansons are like emotions preserved in a musical jar of jam. They can evoke our memories, a mood, or an atmosphere in a very direct way.”
Sabine Paas and Ralf Gscheidle entice their audience with short stories and great chansons—from Edith Piaf to Jacques Brel, from Juliette Greco to Gilbert Bécaud—to evoke the French art of living; and if one or two people whisper a soft “Je t’aime” at the end of the evening, then this seduction has been a success!

Sabine Paas lives and works as an actress, voice artist, and chanson singer in Cologne. In addition to her work for various theaters, radio stations, and radio plays, Paas—who holds a degree in theater studies—founded the reading and recitation theater “Lesen & Lauschen” in 1999 and, together with Ralf Gscheidle, the “Kleines Musiktheater” in 2006.
Ralf Gscheidle lives and works as a musician, composer, lecturer, and sound engineer in Cologne. Since earning his music degree with a major in accordion, he has played in various ensembles for theater, film, and television. He is currently touring Germany with Jimmy Kelly and the Street Orchestra.
