Hannah Ma / Samir Calixto & Of Curious Nature: Resisting bodies

In the organizer's words:

About the evening:

RESISTING BODIES - The act of rebellion lies in the depths of being.

Hannah Ma's choreography *"Only The One Who Brings The Bird Can Make It Sing "* understands the body as our very own territory and as a (political) landscape defined by vulnerability and the need for tenderness. To the composition "The Bird Of A Thousand Voices" by Armenian composer Tigran Hamasyan, the choreographer and the dancers of Of Curious Nature invoke the collective as a creative force in order to create a shared performative home.

Choreographer Samir Calixto is once again working with the dancers from Of Curious Nature. In *"Fulgence "* (The Radiant), he and the ensemble seek to dispel our inner and outer darkness through radiating explosions of energy from movement: The fevered body dances in an act of resistance, illuminating the shadows of our existence.
