Hansel and Gretel are very spirited and are always inventing new tests of courage. That's why their parents constantly warn them to be more careful. When the children want to go into the forest alone, their mother and father are very worried, but the siblings take a bag of marbles with them so that they can mark the way home. On the way, they meet the timid Wolpi, who used to be a bear but has supposedly been bewitched by a witch. Hansel and Gretel can't quite believe this and decide to get to the bottom of the matter. The next day, they look for their marbles because their parents have hidden them so that they don't go back into the forest. But they are not deterred and scatter breadcrumbs on the path instead. But their new friend Wolpi is always hungry and eats the crumbs. On their search for the way home, they come across a gingerbread house. Despite Wolpi's warnings, Hansel and Gretel go closer to eat the gingerbread. Suddenly the door opens and ....

Will the children manage to outwit the witch with Wolpi's help? The little audience members are sure to lend a helping hand.
