The Menschensinfonieorchester, initiated by Alessandro Palmitessa and Hans Mörtter, the then pastor of the Lutherkirche in the heart of Cologne's Südstadt district, has stood for musical encounters, inclusion and social solidarity for 24 years.

Originally born from the idea of uniting street musicians and homeless artists with professional musicians , the orchestra is now a living symbol of the unifying power of music. Next year, it will celebrate its 25th anniversary - a quarter of a century of building musical bridges between people from all walks of life.

The orchestra will present a festive program full of diversity, emotion and community. In addition to well-known compositions from its own repertoire, pieces dedicated to the theme of peace will be performed - music that touches, inspires and gives hope. The concert is all about peace, solidarity and mutual understanding - values that are particularly important at Christmas time.

The evening will be enriched by special guests :

  • Because Choir Cologne - Conductor: Mariano Gallusio

  • Wolfgang Proppe (Erdmöbel)

  • Richard Bargel

The evening will be hosted by Hans Mörtter, who will guide you through the evening with his warm-hearted manner.

Free admission - donations requested.

About the performers

The Menschensinfonieorchester was founded almost a quarter of a century ago by Alessandro Palmitessa and Hans Mörtter . Since then, it has brought together musicians from a wide range of backgrounds, age groups and walks of life - from the street to the stage. With its inclusive line-up, the orchestra creates unique soundscapes in which professional art and social responsibility merge harmoniously.

The Because Chor Köln, directed by Mariano Julian Galussio, stands for musical openness, passion and communal singing. The choir brings together voices that touch through diversity and enthusiasm.

Wolfgang Proppe, member of the well-known band Erdmöbel, is a pianist and arranger with a keen sense of harmonic nuances and poetic musicality.

Richard Bargel is one of the most distinguished blues musicians in Germany. With his distinctive voice and charismatic stage presence, he combines musical depth with emotional expressiveness.

Together, these artists create an evening that is musically moving and humanly unifying - a concert of peace and hope.
