Thomas Mann meets Heinz Strunk. The result is a story that fits perfectly into Heinz Strunk's oeuvre and in no way loses its appreciation for the classic.
Jonas Heidbrink, a man of success. But Heidbrink is not doing well, not at all. And so, one cold January day, he heads east to the Mecklenburg wasteland, where a castle-like building rises up in the middle of the marshes: the sanatorium. It's all very posh, but it's still a clinic for people with one or two ailments.
