Through historical images and documents, this walking tour tells the story of the park, which began in 1707 with the creation of what is now known as the “Große Wiese.” Take a look down Kuhturmallee, dream along with Augustus the Strong of the hunting lodge, and, like the strollers of the 19th century, imagine a concert at the “Bonorand.” The Rosental has always held a special allure, particularly for poets and scholars. Find out why Fontane was fond of “Kintschy,” with whom Gellert made eye contact in the Rosental, and discover a monument with a “source citation.”
