"I am confused. So I will do a confused dance."

Rarely has thinking about the future seemed more urgent, but also rarely more somber than today. The vanishing point of all visions of the future, however, always remains community: only together, this much seems clear, can we confront the world's multiple casualties of climate change, credibility crises, and wars. But how do we practice community and how do we create it? At any rate, attempts to make it emerge on command are doomed to failure. So we declare the one of our familiar relationships to be the model in which we try out at an early age what community means - the complex bond with our brothers and sisters. Nothing else, after all, the great poets have recommended to us: All men become brothers hopes Schiller, sisters, now we are swans states Rilke. But did they really have in mind the manifold entanglements, distortions and confusions that can arise between brothers and sisters?

HNSL / GRTL. An Embrace is an absurd coming-of-age scenario that uses primarily nonverbal means to inquire into the possibilities and stressors of siblinghood. On the foil of the well-known fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm, a brother and sister move through the repetitive endless loop of their inner development, entangled in the eternal attempt to make their own life better than the last version of themselves or the preceding generations. In the process, the two repeatedly reenact the trauma of their abandonment, become entangled in attempts at self-optimization, and become confused in their own thoughts. The result is an experimental set-up that would be wordy and melancholy in spoken theater, but in the medium of physical theater is able to unfold an unexpected force and lets no occasion for a comic illumination of the situation pass unused.

A performance in which the repertoire of non-partnership gestures between two people is illuminated and, in addition, a tent is set up very clumsily.

LANGUAGE NO PROBLEM! The production uses fragments of different languages, among others English, German and a fantasy language created by the performers. But since the focus is on non-verbal means of representation anyway, you don't need to worry about possible text incomprehensibility!
