+++ As part of the TWIST IT! Figure and song +++
Meirav Ben David [ISR]
A female choir gradually takes shape. Body parts, costumes and choral objects come to life. Pictures and masks, texts and poems, pilgrimage hymns from the Middle Ages and women's songs from various languages and traditions emerge from the songbooks. The figures and objects transform endlessly, a metamorphosis in song and in the circles of life. Through movement, between ancient rituals and imaginary play, a new ceremony is born.
Inspired by: "Libre Vermell de Monserat" (Red Book of Monserat); a collection of medieval songs found in the monastery of Monserat.
