This so often quoted genre drawer 'post-hardcore' is musically the purest grab bag. It takes you from the most delicate breathy songs, presented on ambient soundscapes and gentle acoustic guitars, straight to breathtaking outbursts of rage - sometimes within just one song. But this is exactly what fans of bands like I Prevail from Rochester Hills in the US state of Michigan appreciate.

Brian Burkheiser (vocals), Eric Vanlerberghe (vocals), Steve Menoian(guitar) and Gabe Helguera (drums) have been on the road in this musical field of tension since 2013 - and have made it to a size that reaches far beyond the genre. They have been GRAMMY-nominated twice, have gold and platinum records on the shelves, and still manage to surprise old and new fans with their music. In May, I Prevail can be seen live again at four German concerts in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich and Hamburg.

Most recently, I Prevail released a single that perfectly showcases their range in just one song. " Deep End (Stripped)" features the "Stripped" version, which is so dazzling, poppy and catchy that you could easily put it between a song by Ed Sheeran and the Giant Rooks on the radio. The original version, which can be found on their 2022 album "True Power", erupts in melodic fury in the chorus. And the live recording, recorded in London in 2023, seems even more majestic and powerful than the studio version, whipped up by the audible commitment of the audience.

I Prevail not only manage to produce this marriage of melody and aggression in the studio, they are also an insanely well-rehearsed, powerful live band. Songs like the hardcore outburst "Body Bag", the 'power ballad ' "Hurricane", the ferocious, screamo part-laden "Self-Destruction", the 2016 hit "Scars" (which opens the album "Lifelines" ) and the long-time fan favorite "Blank Space" from 2014, which emphasizes the hardcore roots above all - all of these songs want to be heard and played live.

This is exactly what I Prevail will be doing on their upcoming tour in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich and Hamburg. They might even surprise you with new material - after all, there are rumors of a follow-up to "True Power".
