Special Guest: Stefan Honig
Ian Fisher left his home state of Missouri at the age of twenty-one to roam the streets of Europe for fifteen years. His music, described by Rolling Stone as "half Americana and half Abbey Road-worthy pop," blends his rural Midwestern upbringing with a tenderness informed by his time abroad. Simple yet emotionally complex, he has the acoustic toughness of an early Jeff Tweedy with a sentimental pen ready to strike a'la Townes Van Zandt. Fisher has written two thousand songs and performed them at a thousand concerts in Europe, Africa and North America. He lives between Toronto, Vienna and his family's farm.
Stefan Honig:
His music simply sounds like more than just singing and guitar. Stefan Honig is absolutely right about that. His mixture of indie, pop and neo-folk stands out refreshingly from the local singer/songwriter glut, and not just because of the English lyrics.
