"I'm not a misanthrope, but ..."

We are frustrated. We puke our guts out. In a feminist adaptation of Molière's "The Misanthrope", we take Alceste - the idealistic angry young man who can no longer stand the world - as the starting point for our own anger and ask: Is this conflict-potentiating type still acceptable? We try to react to the world with more empathy and stand up for our convictions in a community instead of becoming uncompromisingly lonely. But it's not easy.

An honest play about (female*) anger, misanthropy, the big P - patriarchy -, desperate hedonism and the question of how we can remain empathetic and resistant at the same time between regulars' table slogans and cancel culture. Political. Funny. Searching.

Come along and realign your empathy antennae: We'll dig through the dirt - and arm ourselves for resistance.
